Tilo Gockel presents in c't Fotografie the web application for handwriting recognition developed at the Steinbeis Transfer Centre for Data Analytics and Predictive Modelling. The app makes it possible to train and test a neural network directly in the browser — without installation, without prior knowledge.
Learning progress, weights and activations are visualised in real time. This makes the workings of neural networks immediately tangible — a prime example of the Transfer Centre's VisualApps.
